June Vacation to California National Parks and the Coast

We went on a little road trip the first week of June we no plans except for the bikes on the Yakima and knowing we wanted to go west. Our first stop was Sequoia National Park (see a glimpse in the pictures to the right). We highly recommend this place for it's pretty amazingly HUGE trees (largest diameters in the tree family). (Not to be confused with Redwoods which are the tallest). From there we headed north to King's Canyon National Park. Another goodie.

Our final national park stop was Yosemite. The most touristy of the bunch but worth the couple days spent there along with the night in the mountain climbers' campground where they place six random campers per site and you share the fire and picnic table...you get to know some interesting folks that way.

We decided to take the coast "back" from there and did a stop in San Francisco then all the way down Highway 1. It never gets old. We got to see Jenna and Mark in LA and enjoy the best OJ we've ever had---fresh from the tree in their yard. The trip came to a conclusion at 3:45 am after driving approximately 15 hours the last day and Noell taking, well, you can probably guess what shift she took.

All in all, another great western trip and looking forward to more down the ROAD.
